It has a droopy top and a narrow crown. The branches are droopy. The needles are short and flat. At the end they are a little pointy. The cones are small about 2 centimeters. They can grow up to 60 meters tall. (Grade Two student)
The Hemlock can be found in the North Pacific coast. Coast Salish Nations used it to make red dye for paint goat wool. It grows in moist and dry areas. (Grade Two student)
