Visitor Sign in Protocol
In order to enhance school safety measures and minimize disruptions during school instructional hours, we have implemented a new visitor sign in system.
ALL visitors are now required to sign in at the office with Mrs. Beauchamp and grab a visitor tag. If you student arrives late, staff will walk them to class.
If a visitor is expected by a classroom teacher, Mrs. Beauchamp will call the classroom to let the teacher know and then instructions on how to proceed will be given.
We appreciate your cooperation in our efforts to make Fruitvale Elementary School a safe and productive environment for your children.
Our school is working on "I statements" with a focus on communication here at FES. Please practice these at home and encourage your children to use "I Statements" when discussing issues with peers, classmates, and adults or showing their learning in class.Â
Communicating encompasses the set of abilities that people use to impart and exchange information, experiences, and ideas; effectively using communication forms, strategies, and technologies. People who communicate effectively use their skills and strategies intentionally to ensure understanding for their audience, communicating in an increasing variety of contexts and purposes, and often with multiple audiences.
Here are examples of I statements around "Communication" and "Collaboration".Â
We have some new PAW awards for students who are communicating with "I statements" as we continue with our learning.Â

Lunch Groups
This month, we are continuing our Lunch Cultural Connection Groups! Grade 6 students are invited to join on Tuesdays, and Grade 7 students on Thursdays. These groups provide a welcoming space for students to connect, build friendships, and enjoy positive lunchtime interactions while working on different crafts and projects. November is Beading Month! Students will have the opportunity to create bracelets and beaded animals. This hands-on activity encourages creativity, fine motor skills, and appreciation for the cultural significance of beading in many Indigenous traditions.
Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
We are beginning our Social Emotional Learning initiative, focusing on positive peer relationships and strategies for navigating challenging social situations. SEL groups will be available for students who wish to participate, supporting our school’s goal of fostering empathy, respect, and well-being for all learners.

We are going to do a Liberty Foods gift card fundraiser before Christmas. These gift cards are a great gift idea for family or friends. Starting November 4th you can print them off from the link below or pick them up at the office.
Fruitvale Elementary School has teamed up with Liberty Foods for a fantastic fundraiser and we would greatly appreciate everyone’s help in making it successful!
We have the opportunity to raise money by buying Liberty Foods gift cards in volume. Gift cards are purchased at face value, for example; a $50 gift card costs $50, so this is a fundraiser that costs nothing extra, you get what you pay for. This is an excellent opportunity for everyone to pre-pay for groceries while helping our school at the same time.Â
ALL orders are due by Thursday, December 4th at 3pm.
Please pick up your purchased cards in person on Thursday, December 11th or Friday December 12th before 3pm.
Thanks in advance for everyone’s participation, the more gift cards we order the more funds we raise for our school!
Students will be given a form to go home.
Link here for more information. You can print this form out or get one from the office.
Parents/Guardians you are all members of the PAC and we want your feedback! Please complete this short survey by Tuesday Nov. 11 before 10 pm. You will have the option to enter our draw for a chance to win $100 gift card of your choice to a local business for participating with this survey.
