Life is busy!! Here are some good habits and a guide for sleeping! Check out the link below. As a parent of two kids, these are some strategies I have been working on with my family and I wanted to share in hopes it helps others. The link below discusses many things as well as screen time before bed.
Lost and Found
Our lost and found is growing. Please come into the school through the front doors, sign in at the front desk, and have a browse. We will be collecting items for the school to use or donating the rest to the Thrift Store as of March 15th.
Parents of children who turn 5 years old between January 1 and December 31, should plan to register their child for Kindergarten. Registration week is over, however get your registration in now.
Please see this link if you have any questions!
Also, HERE is important information from Interior Health to consider when registering your child for Kindergarten.
Please go to our school website under Students then Grade 7 Transition for all the details you will need.
NUTRITION
Students do and think best when they have positive role models, and when foods offered both in and outside classrooms are in line with healthy eating messages.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT
At FES, we believe that no student will be denied access to programs, services or educational opportunities provided by the school because of financial need. Parents, caregivers or families needing school related financial aid (school/District fees, field-trips, school supplies, etc.) are asked to contact the Principal to make arrangements so that ALL our students have equal access to all the educational opportunities offered.
MEALS PROGRAM
FES will continue to provide nutritious lunches for students in need through the School Meals Program. Parents who wish their child to take part in this program can contact the Principal [fruitvale@sd20.bc.ca].
HEALTHY SNACKS
While ‘treats’ are nice, it is important to send healthy foods and drinks to school. For PE and regular water hydration, due to COVID-19, our water fountains as bottle fillers work great. We do have bottle filling stations and encourage all students to have a re-fillable bottle.
Metal or 'Eco' friendly plastic bottles are preferred for safety considerations.
Thank you for your cooperation with this.
