How to view your child's formal learning update?
Term 1 formal learning update will be available for viewing on the MyEd BC Parent Portal on Thursday, December 18th.
We have great information on how to view your child's report card on our school website at www.fes.sd20.bc.ca. The work done by staff to support all kids is much appreciated. You can click HERE as well or go to the school website.
Families, please go over your child's report card with them. Look for areas of success and where we can grow and learn. As we move on through the year, how we are all working as a team to support the learners at FES is important. Please follow the link above or on our website. If you are still having issues, call the school for support. Remember you may need to update your password.
We’re hoping to purchase a new projector for our gym to replace the one lost in the fire. This will support school assemblies, concerts, and community events.
We kindly invite families and friends to contribute by donation at our morning and evening concerts. Your generosity will help bring our gym—and our gatherings—back to life. Please bring cash!
Thank you for your continued support and care for our school community.
How to get your tickets: We will be using an online system for tickets as years previous. We can open the tickets for people to get 2 extra if needed.
When you arrive at the show, we will scan your ticket so please have your code on your phone or print it out. This is important as we have a fire code and can not be over on our numbers. No ticket = no entry. Please only come to the show that your tickets are for as we, unfortunately, can not let people in without tickets. Doors open 30 minutes before each show starts. If you need help, please contact the principal, Mike Page mpage@sd20.bc.ca
Student Drop Off will be at 5pm in their classroom regular line up.
For donations to our FES Winter Concert Gear. For the PAC Meat Draw.

Tickets will be drawn following both performances.

We have some great resources to share as well. Podcast Here - From Johnathan Haidt, who also wrote a great book called "The Anxious Generation", which is in our DPAC book selection in Mr. Page's office. Other great resources can be found on Open Parachute, which is a paid district tool and FREE for families for many things around social emotional learning.
Our upcoming Ski Day at Red Mountain is meant to be a fun and memorable experience for all students. Please know that if finances are a concern, we are here to support you—we never want money to be the reason a child misses out.
Based on a district poll from last year, we learned that the most common reason students miss ski days is anxiety. We also heard that many parents feel unsure about encouraging their children to push through that initial ‘anxiety wall.’ We want to acknowledge that these feelings are real and valid — and we’re here to support families in helping kids take those brave steps forward. If your child is feeling anxious or nervous, this is a great opportunity to use the tools we teach at school: naming the worry, taking small steps, and practicing calming strategies. Please don’t let anxiety keep them home. Encouraging kids to try something new—and celebrating their effort afterward—helps build confidence and resilience.
Of course, there are times when staying home is necessary, but in most cases we want students to come, try their best, and enjoy a day on the mountain with their friends. Trying something hard is how we grow.
Faces around FES
Thanks in advance for everyone’s participation, the more gift cards we order the more funds we raise for our school!
Students will be given a form to go home.
Link here for more information. You can print this form out or get one from the office.
We are going to do a Liberty Foods gift card fundraiser before Christmas. These gift cards are a great gift idea for family or friends. Starting November 4th you can print them off from the link below or pick them up at the office.
Fruitvale Elementary School has teamed up with Liberty Foods for a fantastic fundraiser and we would greatly appreciate everyone’s help in making it successful!
We have the opportunity to raise money by buying Liberty Foods gift cards in volume. Gift cards are purchased at face value, for example; a $50 gift card costs $50, so this is a fundraiser that costs nothing extra, you get what you pay for. This is an excellent opportunity for everyone to pre-pay for groceries while helping our school at the same time.
ALL orders are due by Thursday, December 4th at 3pm.
Please pick up your purchased cards in person on Thursday, December 11th or Friday December 12th before 3pm.
All orders will be done through PAC and this website fes.parentcouncil.net. Also, your orders are due a week prior to each hot lunch date. Any questions can be sent to pacfruitvale@gmail.com
Winter is coming and we need to wear appropriate boots, clothing, and other accessories that will keep us warm. If your child needs spare clothes, please send them.

Our lost and found is growing...
Please come check it out or send your children if you notice any of this is yours.
Our staff and students have been working hard on being proud learners.
