Bit By Bit

Bit by Bit

By: Medha V.

I write a bit then I get bored

I write a bit and its thrown away into a chest

I write a bit every single day

I write a bit sometimes a bit of a fib

I write a bit but never finished

I write a bit but it doesn't make sense it never makes sense

So I rewrite a bit and try again

And I keep writing a bit every day

And one day…

I piece all the bits together

I remember how I wrote no matter the weather

I remember my tears and fears on the bit

I remember the frustration and trying so hard to quit

Like holding a rose poking you with it’s thorns

But it’s so beautiful you just can’t let go

But piece by piece and tear by tear

A story forms from my bits

And today I snip and snap a ribbon to a shop that holds my bits

Only they are no longer bits

No longer bits, but their own books

No longer do they get thrown away

Locked away in a cage

Like a bird forced to not fly

No, my stories fly high
