Meet our WEAVE Community Educator

Aleena Mendoza (She/They)

At Hiram, I am intentional with creating needed spaces of healing and support for our students. I am a confidential resource available to students, staff, and caregivers who need a space to process their experiences, who want to be connected to WEAVE services, and most importantly, to remind them that I BELIEVE YOU and I am here for you.

In my role, I work with youth in classrooms and one-on-one to promote safe and healthy relationships. Through this opportunity, I provide classroom education on healthy relationships, consent, sex trafficking, relationship violence, and sexual harassment in effort to prevent sexual and teen dating violence. Students also have the opportunity of uplifting their voices and activism by joining Club STRONG where we focus on community building, youth leadership, and advocating for a campus culture free of violence.  Support is always available.

When I am not wearing my advocate/educator hat, you can find me strolling the farmer’s market, enjoying a great book, or spending time with loved ones!
