Student Support Center Services
The Hiram Johnson Student Support Center has been providing students and their families with free, confidential assistance for more than twenty-five years! Our goals are to support the emotional and physical well-being of students and families, reduce barriers that get in the way of students' learning, and foster a supportive and safe school climate for everyone.
Services offered include:
Mental health counseling and referrals to on-site and community-based mental health therapy
Crisis intervention and safety risk assessments
Links to basic needs resources (food, clothing, shelter, internet and utilities, school supplies, backpacks, etc) and other community resources (employment, legal, crisis hotlines, immigration, youth services, etc.)
Mentoring - one-on-one and group mentoring
Support groups
Parent and caregiver supports
Classroom education on suicide prevention
Campus-based education on healthy relationships, domestic violence, sexual violence, sex trafficking, sexual harassment, and consent provided by community partner, WEAVE
Schoolwide activities that build connections between students, reduce bullying, violence and stereotypes, and provide students with increased tools to cope with stress

¡El Centro de Apoyo Estudiantil de Hiram Johnson ha estado brindando asistencia gratuita y confidencial a estudiantes y sus familias durante más de veinticinco años! Nuestros objetivos son apoyar el bienestar emocional y físico de los estudiantes y las familias, reducir las barreras que dificultan el aprendizaje de los estudiantes y fomentar un clima escolar de apoyo y seguridad para todos.
Servicios ofrecidos incluyen:
Consejería de salud mental y referencias, y terapia de salud mental basada en la comunidad
Intervention de crisis y evaluación de riesgos de seguridad
Enlaces a necesidades básicas (comida, ropa, albergue, internet, utilidades, útiles escolares, mochilas, etc) y otros recursos para la comunidad (empleo, legal, línea directa de crisis, inmigración, servicios para adolescentes, etc).
Tutoria - individual y grupal
Apoyo para padres y cuidadores
Educación en clase para prevención de suicido
Educación en campus basada en relaciones saludables, violencia doméstica, violencia sexual, tráfico sexual, acoso sexual y consentimiento promovido por nuestro compañero de comunidad, WEAVE
Actividades para toda la escuela para construir conexiones entre estudiantes, reducir acoso, violencia y estereotipos. Proveemos estudiantes con herramientas para lidiar con estrés.
