PE Uniform Purchase Information
PE Clothes may be pre-ordered before the start of school, or purchased with cash during the school year from the PE Department (while supplies last.)
PE Sweat clothes are optional and available to order through the Webstore. PE Sweat Clothes will be delivered to students in October.
If a student does not have their own PE uniform for the day, they will be given a pair of "Loaners" to use. These are returned at the end of the PE period.
In general, it is felt that if a student is well enough to attend school, then they are well enough to participate in Physical Education. However, it is also recognized that there will be a few occasions when a student's ability to participate may be limited.
Short Term Issue - In order to make the necessary modifications for the student, a signed/dated noted from a guardian must be brought to class for that day. An email will also be accepted if sent before the start of the school day. Students will receive this district form for their guardians to sign.
Long Term Medical - Students who have a long term medical exemption from all or part of physical activities must have a note from a physician. (Long term is more than 3 days.) Have the physician list dates and reason for exemption. Medical notes must be brought/emailed to the teacher. Roll Call teacher will then refer the student to School Nurse to get further information. This district form will be sent home to get a follow up from the medical physician.
All medical notes will be screened by rory-christiansen@scusd.edu. Exercise modifications will be made so that student may still be present in PE Class.
In certain cases, a student may enroll in the PE Google Classroom and complete coursework for the time they are not able to participate in physical activity.
As educators of adolescents, we encourage students to advocate for themselves and get comfortable communicating with adults. Should they have a question or concern regarding PE, they are expected to speak directly with their Roll Call teacher at an appropriate time during class.
Parents are welcome to address questions and concerns with teachers directly through email.
