The Physical Education Staff thrive on living healthy lifestyles and being positive role models for their students. They have over 100 years of combined teaching experience and a few were students here themselves! Together they have solid backgrounds in dozens of sports and fitness disciplines and continue to educate themselves on the latest trends in healthy living and exercise.
I've been a Physical Education Teacher here since 2005. I was born and raised in Hayward, CA. I was a four sport athlete in high school (basketball, track and field, golf and cross country). After my senior year of high school, I attended College of the Redwoods in Humboldt County then transferred to CSU, Sacramento where I earned a BS in Kinesiology. My first job was at Golden Empire Elementary as a PE Teacher for 5 years before coming to Sutter. I come from a family of educators. My grandfather taught at Laney College in Oakland, my mother was a teacher, my father was a teacher/principal, and my sister is a teacher as well.
I love this School! I thrive on the positive environment, culture, school spirit and energy that makes us the “Pride of the City.” Over the years I've coached 8th Grade Boys Basketball and Golf. Within that time I've accumulated 17 of the 100+ City Championship banners hanging in the gym. Currently, I'm no longer coaching any teams, but love supporting all of our athletic teams and spirit events.
During my free time, I enjoy going to Lake Tahoe and the coast with my family and friends. I like to hike, play golf, bike, jog, watch football, listen to music and enjoy life to the fullest.

I have been teaching at this school since 2009, after getting my start in Education as a 5th grade teacher at Phoebe Hearst. I claim Merced, CA as my hometown where I spent my school years playing Softball and Volleyball. At a young age I developed a passion for fitness and healthy living so decided to pursue a degree in Kinesiology at Cal Poly SLO. As a Mustang I taught group fitness classes and was a member of the Cheerleading Stunt team...Ride High!
In my spare time I keep pretty busy with my two kids (Sophomore and 8th grader) and husband. When I'm not coaching and cheering my children on in Baseball, Football, and Volleyball, I enjoy staying active by running, biking, wakesurfing, SUPing, golfing, and playing volleyball. Don't let me forget to brag about my labrador pup, Archer, he's my ride or die. We've committed to our 'Doggo Joggo' of 3 miles every morning before school while listening to any Taylor Swift song.
Two reasons why I love teaching at this school are the high expectations the students are held to and the incredible school spirit. The energy and enthusiasm our students bring to school each day is inspiring. Dress Up days are a blast, and I always enjoy performing in Teacher Air Rock with the Staff. I am hopeful that the PE Department will bring out the best in each student and help them continue to be the Pride of the City. Let's DO WORK!
I have been a PE teacher since 2018 and an educator since 2008. I was born and raised here in Sacramento and attended Loretto High School where I played water polo and swam. I attended Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. It was in college I discovered I had a love of traveling the world, during my study abroad in Spain. I also began a serious yoga practice since I no longer was a participant in organized sport.
I have taught at schools in Costa Rica, South Korea and Australia. I spend my spare time traveling, being outdoors hiking, snowboarding, camping, paddle boarding, surfing and teaching and practicing yoga. I am always planning my next big trip either solo or with friends.
Over the years I have coached a variety of different sports, waterpolo, cheer, swimming and I am so excited to return to coaching Cross Country this year with Coach Moreno.
In 2021, I began teaching in the SCUSD as a PE teacher at Kit Carson. When a job at our amazing school opened up, I jumped at the opportunity to be part of this incredible community of both educators and students. I am so excited for this year because of the energy our students have and bring to class. I am so excited for the 12 Days of Fitness and all of our spirit days.
I am a product of the Sac City Unified School District; Crocker/Riverside Elementary School, California Middle School, and C.K. McClatchy High School ('92). Upon graduation I went to Sacramento City College and was a two sport athlete (Football and Baseball) and earned a Football scholarship to Cal Poly S.L.O. ('97).
I got my start working in the school district through coaching and substitute teaching. I started coaching Football at CKM ('01) and branched out into also coaching Baseball, Track/Field, and Wrestling. I then transitioned to a full-time teaching position at CKM ('04-'09), I spent the next nine years at Hiram Johnson ('09-'18) where I was the Athletic Director, the Men's and Women's Golf Coach, and Physical Department Chair, and now I am enjoying my new home, Sutter/Miwok Middle ('18-Present).
This school is a unique and memorable experience. Teaching a wide array of students who are coming from all over the Sacramento area with aspirations of bright futures and the drive to accomplish just that. We offer a unique balance of high academics, competitive sports programs, amazing school spirit, and an all inclusive environment.
I live an active and healthy lifestyle, partly due to growing up as a dedicated athlete, but now as a health conscious adult. My favorite activities include; running, HIIT workouts, golf, hiking, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and Spartan races. I guess you could say I still have a little competitive athlete in me.
This year marks my 3rd full year at this school, and 23rd year teaching in Sac City Unified. Since completing my first year of teaching at McClatchy H.S. in the spring of 2000, I have been fortunate to enjoy stints at Hollywood Park Elementary, Rosa Parks Middle, and most recently at Phoebe Hearst Elementary. In addition to teaching, I've spent 12 years coaching high school baseball at my alma mater Sacramento HS ('93), McClatchy HS, and Rosemont HS.
As a Sutter Alum myself (4 generations of Sutter Alumni in the family), it is a thrill to return to the community that prides itself on giving students the greatest opportunity for growth and success. This school is a place where everyone is celebrated as a valued member of our special campus life.
A graduate of San Diego State ('97), I played baseball for the Aztecs and earned my B.S. in Public Administration / Criminal Justice. San Diego continues to be my second home, while my family and I enjoy every minute we can spend time there. Go Padres, and Go Aztecs...
Striving to be a lifelong student, my greatest interests are in the subjects of fitness, nutrition, education, and do all I can to share my passion for living a healthy lifestyle with my students, both past and present. During free time, you may be able to find me in the gym, on my paddle board, on a run, on the bike, golf course, reading, and / or spending time with my wife and two kids.
To start the first six weeks of school, the PE Department is excited to have the wonderful Ms. Feickert join the faculty. She is an Alumni of this school and brings positive energy everyday.
A retired Math teacher who loves sports, travel, and subbing in the PE Department.
