Nic's dream for Be Good People was to make it possible for every single public school to provide school-wide, teacher-led life skills instruction. Teachers describe BGP as "self-driving" and "sub-proof." The "turnkey" pacing guides can also be customized, allowing teachers to adjust topic sequence and weave in supplemental materials.
Be Good People offers π’ core lessons designed for Tier 1 + more in-depth π intervention lessons for Tier 2 and Tier 3 (including Special Education). When teachers deliver Be Good People in core, it frees up funding and specialist time to provide more effective interventions, more often, to more at-risk students.
Following best practices for locally-developed curriculum, Be Good People incorporates the SAFE elements. Its instructional features are common among evidence-based curriculums, and it is closely aligned with state standards. At this time, we consider Be Good People to fall in ESSA's Tier 4 ("Demonstrates a Rationale").
