Set Boundaries

It's stressful and draining when we "people please" at the expense of our needs, when we allow people to "walk all over us," or when we allow ourselves to be guilted into saying "yes" to things we don't want to. 

Setting and maintaining boundaries is how we avoid being flooded by these sources of stress. Boundaries are guidelines and expectations that we set in relationships. Boundaries help both people understand how to behave — what behavior is acceptable and what won't be tolerated.
