Our mission at LDTL's Troop 904 (904B for boys and 904G for girls) aligns with the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) standards, catering to scouts aged 10-17. We strive to collaborate with other Units within LDTL 904 to craft an engaging program and foster a secure, nurturing environment where our scouts can flourish. Our goal is to nurture their self-confidence, self-reliance, survival skills, and leadership abilities. Adhering strictly to BSA guidelines, we aim to honor and propagate Vietnamese Scouting traditions, ensuring that our Scouts not only excel at scouting but also proudly represent the Vietnamese Scouting heritage within our community, fostering a deep appreciation for their culture and legacy.
Vision
Our Vision for Troop 904 encompasses several key aspects:
Youth Leadership: Empowering Scouts to take on various roles within the Patrol Leaders' Council (PLC) to foster and advance their leadership abilities.
Program Enrichment: Creating a robust program that enriches the Scout experience through outdoor activities, adventurous pursuits, service initiatives, fundraisers, and skill-building exercises integral to Scouting.
Building Relationships: Cultivating a familial environment where Scouts forge deep bonds within their patrols, units, and across LDTL 904, fostering a sense of camaraderie among fellow Scouts.
Core Values: Instilling fundamental Scouting values and characteristics derived from the Scout Oaths and Laws to nurture good citizenship and a commitment to community service.
Expansion and Unity: Growing our Troop's membership and patrol count while preserving the cohesion and solidarity of our unit.
Preservation of Vietnamese Traditions: Teaching and advocating Vietnamese customs to Scouts, encouraging them to embrace and celebrate their cultural heritage.
Recognition and Engagement: Enhancing involvement with external Scouting groups beyond LDTL 904 and earning recognition within our local District - Chain Bridge, thereby broadening our engagement within the Scouting community.
