A simplistic, paint-brush style vector image. There's a clear indication of what the object is, even though the light bulb's outline matches the colour of the background. This is because there's a soothing but distinguishable contrast between the dark navy blue and the lighter, warmer colours. The brush-like texture of the outlines are also soothing, where the shades of the bulb seem to be made from a sponge brush which gives it an organic, detailed look. The inside of the bulb also looks detailed, and its emptiness draws out the object even more.
A round, bubbly vector image of a planet. The colours are visually pleasing together, and the use of blending nicely adds to the picture (e.g the magenta pink). The shapes in this image work nicely together because there's a consistency - the roundness of each shape (the colour gradients also contribute to their roundness). The negative space in this image also emphasises on the roundness of the planet.
This image shows a desert landscape with a city in the background. When it comes to landscapes such as these, I like how the darker, more prominent colours are at the front, and the lighter colours (usually blending into the background) at the back. This puts emphasis on a point of interest - the front. The hues use a nice assortment of reds, pinks and purples which work nicely together. The gradients for the sky are also nice, and give enough contrast for the Sun to be noticed as well. Overall this picture comes together nicely, especially with the forms and how they make it predictable to the eye.
A warm setting in an ambient living room. I first noticed the use of colours - the dominance of red and the tinges of blue make a great colour combination and doesn't clash. I also enjoy the gradients on the objects being illuminated by the candle, and how the shading isn't straight-up black - it softens the image and puts more emphasis on the reds. The composition is asymmetrical and leans to the right, and this leaves a negative space on the left. The organisation of the objects are also very neat, so the image appears very clean.
A neutral image of a few woodland creatures. The first thing I noticed, especially compared to the previous images, was it's shape - the creatures are as if hand drawn. There also isn't an outline on their features (yet the colour contrasts make their features noticeable) which makes it seem very clean and matches the ambience of woodland - neutral. The hues of this image have quite a lot of saturation to make up for having no outlines, yet it works well because of its overall style.
