"For over 33 years, the Volunteer Referral Center has matched thousands of talented and dedicated individuals with meaningful volunteer opportunities throughout New York City. We not only help our potential volunteers find a placement where they can do the most good, we also help our partner organizations find the dedicated personnel they need to provide their essential services. Through a comprehensive, individualized process—unique to VRC and refined through our many years in service—VRC makes over 2500 referrals annually to a variety of nonprofit concerns including: soup kitchens and food pantries, senior care, social justice and civic services, literacy and after-school programs, museums and cultural institutions, environmental organizations, and health clinics and hospitals, among many others. VRC’s services are free to both individuals and agencies."
