Applications are open for the Summer 2026 Young Writers' Workshops at Hawthornden Brooklyn. Students can work on their writing craft in poetry, fiction, or creative nonfiction. This free summer writing program for teens offers ten day workshops and a $1,000 stipend. Lunch is included daily!

In 2025, the HSTAT Library was awarded the Laura Bush Foundation for America's Libraries grant. The goal of this grant is to expand, diversify, and update school libraries. It was an honor to receive ths grant! In late February, we received a large collection of brand new books. Come see!
A Valentine's display of brand new romance books!
NEW GAMES
The students have spoken! Our games section needed an update. Based on their suggestions, here are some of the new games available in the library. These have been added to our collection of favorites like Uno, Scrabble, Connect4. Chess, Checkers, Backgammon, Battleship, Sorry, and Trouble. Tapple is the new runaway favorite. Come play!
