Why cite sources? When writing a research project, it is essential and required to create citations in order to give credit to the creators of the sources you used. Citations are listed at the end of your paper or project in a Bibliography or Works Cited page. Another reason citations are important is so that your readers can use your references to learn more about the topic of your research. Correct citing and referencing are required for most research assignments, and most papers will be consdered plagarized without a Bibliography or Works Cited page.
