NYSED Investigations Supplementary Scaffolding Project
This team supports the work of the Office of Multilingual Learners by creating resources and professional learning designed to provide MLs/ELLs with access to grade level science content that can be used by educators city-wide.
This summer, educators on the team will create a set of supplementary scaffolds for MLs/ELLs for each Chemistry and Physics Investigation made by NYSED (6 in total). We are looking for teachers with certification in Chemistry, Physics (or substantial experience teaching Regents-level courses in these subjects) as well as teachers with certification in ESOL.
This work will be in-person, and will tentatively take place between July 7 - July 18, totaling approximately 36 hours.

New Visions Supplementary Scaffolding Project
This team supports the work of the Office of Multilingual Learners by creating resources and professional learning designed to provide MLs/ELLs with access to grade level science content that can be used by educators city-wide.
This summer, educators on the team will revise a set of supplementary scaffolds for MLs/ELLs for each unit of the New Visions Biology and Earth and Space Science Curricula and work on professional learning modules around their use. We are looking for teachers with certification in Biology, Earth Science (or substantial experience teaching Regents-level courses in these subjects) and/or ESOL.
This work will be in-person, and will tentatively take place between July 21 - August 1, totaling approximately 20 hours.

Amplify Science Supplementary Scaffolding Project
This team supports the work of the Office of Multilingual Learners by creating resources and professional learning designed to provide MLs/ELLs with access to grade level science content that can be used by educators city-wide.
This summer, educators on the team will create a set of professional learning modules on evidence-based scaffolding strategies that support MLs/ELLs using Amplify science. We are looking for teachers with certification in General Science, Biology, Earth Science, Physics, Chemistry, etc., as well as teachers with certification in ESOL.
This work will be in-person, and will tentatively take place August 4 - 15, totaling approximately 20 hours.

Using Artificial Intelligence as a Planning Partner
This team supports the work of the Office of Multilingual Learners by creating resources and professional learning for educators city-wide centered on the effective use of AI as a planning tool for MLs/ELLs.
We are looking for teachers with certification in content areas in a variety of grade bands (e.g., common branch, 5-9, 7-12, Biology, Mathematics, etc.) as well as teachers with certification in ESOL.
This work will be hybrid, and will tentatively take place July 24 - August 8, totaling approximately 10 - 15 hours, depending on the project. There is also the possibility of continuing this work into the school year.
