In the Anime Class, students get the opportunity to build their own 3D designs. The two examples below are original 3D student creations with tinkercad. They were then 3D printed.

Adding Your own Artwork to a 3D Print (Lithophane)
Open Blender 3D and delete all of the default objects.
Select Add --> Grid
Changing to Edit Mode shows the vertices
Make sure you are in object mode.
Set the strength to around -0.020. This will raise the dark colors upwards and lighter colors downwards.
Select "UV Editing" to modify the placement of the image.
Make sure you are in edit mode. In edit mode, the image on the grid will disappear.
The left panel is the UV MAP of the the image.
Increasing the size of the UVMap decreases the image size and decreasing the UVMap increases the image size on the 3d model
Switch to edit mode and extrude the grid to make it a solid.
Select all vertices and press "E"
After you extrude the grid, the image will show on both sides.
Next steps will make the image show only on one side
Go to Edit mode again and select only the top vertices
Return to object mode.
Go to Data Properties and create a group and assign it to the selected vertices.
Go back to the Displace Modifier and assign "Group" in Vertex Group.
Select the 3D object and Select "File-> Export -> STL"
Use these settings.
Import STL into CURA
The model must be printed upright.
Set Quality to 0.12 for bests quality.
Infill 0%
Increase the Wall line count around 6 to 8
Decrease the 3D Printer speed settings to around 20 to 30 mm/s
