Digital Art
Digital Art is the creation of artwork with software that allows you to draw, paint, sculpt, edit photos, film, etc.
Digital art applications can be used on computers, tablets, and smartphones.
The following are steps of creating digital art with Photoshop.
These steps can be applied to any other digital art program.
I usually start drawing on the computer, or iPad. But, I also create sketches in the sketch book that then imported to one of the drawing apps.
For this demonstration, I started with a very rough sketch on paper to get a better understanding of the pose. Then, I imported the drawing into photoshop.
I increase the size of the canvas to extend the drawing.
I create several layers of each sketch, until I have a finalized sketch to use for the lineart.
After I have the final sketch, I create another layer for digital inking.
Lower the opactiy of the sketch and create a new layer for drawing the line art.
Two layers were created for the final line art
inkmain contains the line art of Luffy
Ink Clouds contains the line art of the clouds
Add another layer for the base color.
This is needed to layering the additional colors without going outside the artwork.
Layout the flat colors
Apply clipping mask to the layers above the base (solid) layer, so the flat colors stay inside.
Adding additional layers for the shadows and other effects.
