Financial Aid
FAFSA: https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa
The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is a free form you fill out to see if you qualify for grants, work-study programs, and federal student loans. Think of it as one application unlocking a variety of financial aid possibilities to help you pay for school.

The New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) is a need-based grant specifically for New York residents attending college in New York State. It helps eligible students offset tuition costs, with awards ranging from $500 to $5,665 per year. Since it's a grant, you don't have to pay it back.
CSS Profile: https://cssprofile.collegeboard.org/
The CSS Profile is an additional financial aid application used by under 300 colleges and scholarship programs to award their own institutional aid. Unlike the FAFSA, which focuses on federal aid, the CSS Profile gives colleges a more detailed picture of your family's financial situation. Please note, deadlines vary by institution.
Dream Act Application:
The DREAM Act Application is an opportunity that gives undocumented and other students access to NYS administered student financial aid to support their higher education costs. It is not a financial aid application. It gives eligible students access to apply for NYS financial aid programs. Qualifying for DREAM Act is step one. To access NYS aid, students must submit separate applications for NYS financial aid programs, like NYS TAP.

*If a family has decided not to complete financial aid (FAFSA or DREAM Act), please sign this waiver and have your student return it to Ms. Lawkins in 602.*
