**Please encourage your children to make sure they hand in assignments when they are due. If they are absent, please make sure that they look to see what they have missed! Science and Social Studies are rotating subjects and are not taught each week! When looking at Power School, please be aware that grades in Science and Social Studies take time to update. These classes are on a rotation and grades won't change until we visit that subject again! If you have any questions about this, please reach out!
This week we are going to be continuing our next unit that focuses on energy and electricity. This will take us through the remainder of the trimester. We are going to be exploring electrical energy. We will start with what an electric charge is, then move into static electricity before moving into current electricity.
Please continue to practice the states and capitals! The next test will be on March 5th.
This week we are going to be learning about the Second Commandment. This is Chapter 11 in our Religion Books.
We are going to learn what they are and begin memorizing them. Students will be required to know them in order from memory. There is a form being sent home in the Monday folders that explains the format of the quiz. It will be an oral quiz and students will be recording themselves reciting the Commandments from memory. Click here for a copy of the form and the Ten Commandments.
Homework: This is the projected homework for this week. It is possible that due to circumstances in class the homework may change. It is also possible that students will need to finish classwork that they did not complete during the class period to be turned in the next day which will not be listed here. Please look at the student's planner as this will have the most recent and up to date homework. If nothing is written in the agenda, please look at the absent work file attached at the top of the page as the current information will be found there!

Social Studies: States and Capitals Quiz 3/5
We have started to learn our states and capitals! Students have a large map in their binders that will be filled out throughout the year. We will focus on 7 new states and capitals each time. In the Social Studies Google Classroom there is a section titled States and Capitals that will have review games and materials that students can access any time to help them practice. Their login information is taped into their binders!
The quizzes will be broken into two parts.
On the first part:
Students will need to be able to match the states with the correct capitals
On the second part:
Students will need to identify the states on a blank map. They WILL NOT need to memorize how to spell them.
States and Capitals that we've learned so far!
