First Grade Patriot Project
In an effort to learn more about our great nation, first graders will participate in a Patriot Project. To become a First Grade Patriot, the students will memorize the Pledge of Allegiance and demonstrate flag etiquette in our upcoming unit. First graders must also choose one of the activities below to complete. Upon completion of the project, the children will earn their own flag and a very special certificate proclaiming them as a “First Grade Patriot”. We will celebrate this accomplishment with a Patriotic Concert and display of the projects Wednesday, May 27, 2026.
It is our intention for this project to be a fun learning experience for you and your child. It is our wish that these activities will help our students gain a sense of pride and gratitude for the blessing of living in this great nation. As a culminating activity to our unit of study, we will be taking our field trip to the Memorial Mall in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, May 21, 2026.
