The following is the protocol for evaluations under the annual Professional Performance Review.
NON-TENURED STAFF (Probationary & Other Non-Tenured Staff)
Each year evaluators shall conduct a minimum of four (4) formal classroom observations of each probationary or non-tenured teacher.
PART-TIME STAFF
There are two (2) formal observations required for part-time teachers. After a part-time teacher has been evaluated in this manner for three (3) years, he/she shall be evaluated according to the Tenured Teachers Limited Review and Full Review schedule.
TENURED STAFF WHO ARE ON LIMITED REVIEW
a. Two observations-one formal/long, one informal/short
b. Portfolio
Formal/Long Observation-Abbreviated form based on the Charlotte Danielson Framework
Ratings for each Domain -Ineffective/Developing/Effective
Summative Overall rating: Ineffective Effective
Informal/Short Observation-Summary statement (short paragraph) of classroom visit
Portfolio-Professional Evidence Folder to include five artifacts from the following suggested choices:
Copies of parts of your school wires pages
Lesson plans/unit
Professional goals statement
Student work
Home to School or School to Home communications
Student progress reports
Option A report from previous year
Summer work summary/reflection
Professional Development Grants awarded
Copy of end of year professional form
These are suggestions from the Joint Committee. A teacher may include other evidence or additional evidence other than what is suggested here.
TENURED STAFF ON FULL REVIEW: CHOICE OF OPTION A OR OPTION B
Option A: Self-Directed Review
Two Informal/Short observations, with summary statement of classroom visit
Option A project meets portfolio requirement for that year
Option B: Traditional Review
Two long/formal observations, full Charlotte Danielson evaluation form (four pages)
Pre-Conference for the announced observation
Post-Conference for each observation
