For the first assigned essay, all academic students must complete the first essay using steps 1-8 (below). Students who complete steps 1-6 and earn over a 90 do not have to complete the remaining 2 steps. Read and complete all of the steps below. Failure to do so will be reflected in your overall grade.
create a Jstor account since Jstor sources are the only sources allowed to be cited in your essays (other than primary sources). As of now, the password and log in information could be found in the pdf in this section. Sometimes, students need to create a Jstor account. If trouble creating this account go to the library and seek assistance as password changes are out of my control (password and log in requirements could change). First essay topics and a starting article can be found on this page. Sometimes you can access Jstor using:

Read an Article from the Section Below as a starting point for your essay after watching the video. This article should be the first one you read for your paper. When done create your first thesis based on your understanding of the reading. Then locate additional sources on your topic (one source will not be enough). Topic sections are determined by the colored heading.
