The Cold War unit is broken down into two sections. In class we will cover the Cold War. Your unit presentations will be about a wide range of topics from the 1950s to the 1960s. America experienced much internal turmoil during this time period. The cold War was on. Americans were fighting in Korea and in Vietnam, while African Americans fought to end segregation. The success of the African American campaign led to other groups such as homosexuals, women, Native Americans, Chicano Americans and other groups to demand more from their government. The 50s and 60s was the golden age of cars and suburban growth. A time when Americans could find work with meaningful pay.
Your grade does not depend on the members of your group. Students assigned to groups just have the same thematic topic.
