Practicing mindfulness is a great way to stay calm and healthy. It's how we can take care of our brains, bodies and hearts!

Stop, Cool Down!
In this video, join Mrs. Scaglia and MJ Peer Mediators to practice the mindfulness tool of noticing when you're feeling angry, anxious, or stressed, and then taking a moment to stop and cool those emotions down.
To cool down you can:
Take deep breaths
Count to 10
Walk away from the situation--take a break!

Listening Walk
In this video, join Mrs. Scaglia and Ms. Kassick as they explore being mindful while doing many different activities!

Listen to Mrs. Scaglia read Mindful Monkey, Happy Panda, where Monkey learns all about how to be mindful when playing, eating, and walking!
Watch Ms. Kassick as she takes a listening walk, where she pays special attention to all of the sounds she hears outside.

Give it a try! Focus on the sounds in the video--What do you hear? Take a walk on your own with a trusted adult--What do you notice?

Mindful Breathing
In this video, join Mrs. Scaglia and Ms. Kassick as they use belly breathing to calm down their brains and bodies!
Give it a try! Take 5 belly breaths--inhale through your nose to fill your bellies with air and exhale through your mouth.

Love and Kindness
