Children learned what they need to do to be caring listeners and how this helps when trying to solve conflicts.
I-Messages Lesson Parent Letter
Children learn that communication is a two way process. After learning how to be active listeners and we review how to share our thoughts and feelings using an I-message. We practice sharing how we feel, why we feel that way and what we need in a helpful way. When using I-messages, we can use our words in an assertive manner without name calling or placing blame on the other person.

Finally, we practice solving conflicts using the six steps of the Win!Win! Guidelines. We role play by pretending we are in a conflict and then work towards finding win-win solutions or compromises; ones where both people feel satisfied.
