– Unexcused Absence
Unexcused absence occur when students does not provide information why he/she cannot attend the classes.
– Attendance Alert to parents
When a student attend less than 80% of all classes, then students will be down grade for the Final Exam Results. This is a warning letter for all parents to pay more attention.
Students are required to look throughout scores:
a. Students can directly check their scores at online advisory site. Contact the administration staff at the study program or the lecturer if there have been improper scores (by mistakes).
b. Students must check the change of grading form deadline (FPN) for T or scores which have not been issued.
c. Pay close attention to NR, IP, IPK (GPA) and total credit points of passing courses and consider the study deadline.
Here are some simple things to do to boost academic grading and performance:
1. Visit professors often.
2. Attend all classes.
3. Sit in the first three rows in class
4. Be on campus from 8 a.m to 5 p.m
5. Use planner and make daily to-do list.
6. Read assignments BEFORE class.
7. Finish projects in time for advance critique.
8. Review and rewrite class notes the same day.
Academic performance results that parents should pay attention is when students receive C or below in any subjects. D is only admitted for first year undergraduate courses, not for remaining second year and so on. T (undecided) must be achieved before a change of grading basis (FPN) deadline.
The following rules of behavior are to be observed during all lectures:
1. All mobile phones must be switched off and not used.
2. Students should not get up and leave in the middle of lectures either to go to the toilet or for any other purpose.
3. There should be no talking during lectures.
4. Food and drink - with the exception of a bottle of water – must not be brought into the lecture hall.
5. Laptops may only be used with special permission from the lecturer and must only be used for taking notes.
6. Students must arrive punctually for all lectures to avoid causing disruption.
Should there be any subjects failed in your first two semesters or Tahap Persiapan Bersama, students can only re-take it on the next academic year. If students still fail, then drop out sanction could be given to them.
If the failed subject is a compulsory, students could re-do this on the same semester it is opened and could try it over until end of study length time, If until study time in SBM is over and still could not finish it, SBM will give recommendation letter for students to withdraw.
If student failed on an elective course, they can re-take it on the next semester on the same year, with note that it is open again by Head of Interest Group. The maximum quantity of re-do the subject is similar to above case. Then, when this case occur, it is best for student to coordinate with related lecturer to make sure course capacity is enough.
Early warning will occur on one last year toward the deadline of study (make the best use of it). Wisely spend the time, thoroughly arrange the time for study and registration, consult with your advisor and work hard!
ITB students have maximum of 6 years in total to finish all 144 SKS as, warning will be announced on the last year of students academic year.
