Each module includes two key presentations: one focused on the employability skill and one on Career Connections. The skill presentation introduces the key traits and real-world relevance, while the Career Connection presentation helps students apply the skill through industry-based scenarios and reflective activities. Key features of both presentations and their related classroom applications are explained below.
Each Employability Skill Presentation is broken down into four key traits to make the skill more accessible and actionable for students. This structure allows educators to teach and reinforce the skill in manageable parts, helping students build a deeper understanding and apply each trait in real-world contexts.
Each of the four traits include:
An essential question to guide inquiry and discussion.
A content summary to establish meaning and context.
A real-world workplace example to promote relevance.
A student-centered activity to promote application and reflection.
Each Career Connection Presentation includes Tell Your Story Activities and Career Portfolio Activities that help students reflect on their experiences and apply the featured skill in career-related contexts. These activities support students in building confidence, developing interview responses, and creating artifacts for their Career Portfolio that showcase their workplace readiness.
Activities may include:
Skill and Trait Reflection Prompts
Resume Checkpoints
Interview Checkpoints
Cover Letter Checkpoints
Job Search
