Empowering Students with Skills for School, Work, and Life

Welcome to the SBCSS Employability Skills curriculum, an engaging, standards-aligned resource designed to help students build the essential skills needed to thrive in today’s workforce and beyond. These modules support the development of real-world competencies through meaningful classroom activities, reflective prompts, and career-focused tasks that connect directly to students’ futures.

This series includes ten key employability skill modules:

Each module includes

A Skill Presentation introducing the core concepts and traits
A Career Connection Presentation that applies the skill to workplace situations and portfolio development
Interactive Activities and discussion prompts that promote critical thinking and real-world application
Career Portfolio Activities to help students reflect, demonstrate their learning, and prepare for interviews and job searches

All worksheets, handouts, and supporting documents are embedded within the presenter notes of the slide decks and in the Teacher Guide document. Educators are encouraged to make copies and adapt the materials to best meet their students’ needs.

In addition to the core module content, each skill webpage includes additional resources and activities to support expanded and independent learning.
