Resilience is a foundational skill for personal and professional growth. This module supports students in learning how to set goals, navigate challenges, adapt to setbacks, and turn feedback into fuel for improvement. Through the SBCSS Employability Skills framework, educators can help students build the self-awareness and persistence needed to thrive in both school and the workforce.
Aligned to California’s Career Ready Practices, this content engages students in goal-setting, reflective journaling, scenario-based problem-solving, and career-connected activities. Students explore how resilience supports workplace success, develop strategies to manage adversity, and document their growth in a career portfolio. They also practice telling their stories to prepare for job interviews and future opportunities.
This page includes a teacher guide, student resources, and all necessary links to implement the Resilience module, helping students build the mindset and habits to face life’s challenges with confidence and determination.
The teacher guide, presentations, and worksheets have been adapted from Oregon Employability Skills and tailored to meet the needs of our region.
