CRTC+ ELO

For students enrolled in a CRTC program that have a desire to expand their learning outside of the classroom, or continue with independent CRTC training after completion of a program.

Prosthetics

Yvette knows that she wants to study Prosthetics and Orthotics to help those that have lost limbs, like many in her home country of Rwanda. Yvette's second year of Health Science required that she engage in direct training, but EMT and LNA courses were not in the direction of her career goals. Yvette made a personalized CRTC+ plan to spend 2 morning a week, at 2 hours each, with the doctors and professionals at Concord O & P. Yvette kept a log of her weekly experiences, and presented to a panel of mentors and teachers a presentation her contributions to the practice, advances in professional tools, soft skills and technologies in the field of prosthetics, and her personal growth through her experiential learning internship.

Recreational Therapy

Sarah is a Health Science student with a drive to adapt her personal pathway in this program to include deeper knowledge of recreational therapy. This career is of interest to Sarah, an athlete, because she personally sees the value of increasing social, emotional and physical health through indoor and outdoor activities. Sarah knew that the EMT and LNA offerings would not bring her closer to her goal of becoming a Recreational Therapist in a school or hospital, so she created a CRTC+ plan to train under a certified Autism Fitness instructor and craft and apply a recreational therapy plan for autistic students in Concord elementary schools. Sarah attended training, kept a log of her experiences, and created a presentation that outlined her gained understanding of herself, her career path and the world of recreational therapy.

Auto Mechanic

Max came to CRTC with a master plan. He knew that he wanted to work with his hands. By his senior year, Max had completed 2 years of Auto Technician training through CRTC, and he was ready to take on more , so he created a CRTC+ internship at a local dealership, where he put to practice all of his education and experience without the comfort of a teacher just across the room. Max's hands-on, real-world experience increased his knowledge by leaps and bounds. Max also enrolled in classes at Manchester Community College Automotive Program, completing his first year of an Associate's Degree while still a senior in high school. Max's CRTC+ year propelled him ahead of his peers and brought him closer to his goal of becoming a certified, experienced mechanic.
