Students are invited to take their lunches in the Music Department with the understanding that it is a privilege, not a right, and may be revoked at any time for reasons of misbehavior, disruption, damage of equipment or facilities, failure to clean up, or otherwise acting in a manner unbecoming of a member of the Spaulding Music Department.
We hope to see lots of you up here as it's a great opportunity for you both socially and musically and it also takes some pressure off the cafeteria space, but please remember to follow these guidelines:
1) Half of your lunch period should be spent engaged in practice of some sort or otherwise engaged in musical development.
2) Lunches must be eaten in the Small Ensemble Room. The Chorus room is reserved first for Guard practice and secondarily for other types of practice. The Band room is reserved for instrumental and vocal practice. The Music Library is also available for practice use. No food should be brought into any of these practice rooms.
3) You MUST clean up after yourselves. All trash must be thrown out. Do not leave anything lying around for someone else to deal with. Any kinds of spills MUST be cleaned up by those that caused them. There will be sanitary wipes on the table in the Small Ensemble Room for this purpose.
4) You MUST sign-in and out on the clipboard outside our office. This is so we can keep track of who is in th department at any given time in case of emergency evacuation or fire drill.
5) Once you are in the department you MAY NOT leave before the bell without a pass. See a director for these. Keep in mind director's have work to do and cannot be constantly writing passes, so requests should be minimal.
6) You must get a permanent pass from a director for your lunch block.
