This chart can be used to help students break down what they are feeling. If children can learn to be specific about their feelings, they are more able to identify what is bothering them, and determine the best tools to use for coping. This wheel is best used with our older students, but similar, more simplified versions can be found online for our younger elementary schoolers.
One of the resources we use to talk about feelings with our younger learners is the "Spot" books by Diane Alber. You can learn more here, or check them out of the SES library.
Remember, all feelings are okay.
Some are more fun than others, but it is expected that we will all have different feelings (including even different feelings at the same time!) throughout our day.
