"I really enjoy the effort the IS program puts into fairs. In addition to amount of creativity the course employs, and field trips." -Roshni, Class of 2026
Throughout an IS student's time in the program, they have the opportunity to attend multiple field trips. Below, you can find information about the trips and pictures.
Students attended the Jelly Belly factory to gain a better understanding of factory work and industrialization before they began their Industrial Revolution TouchPoint.
The 10th graders visit the Japanese Tea Gardens in San Francisco to gain a better understanding of Japanese art and culture ahead of the work they do for our Asian Culture Festival. They also attend Japantown to eat yummy food before heading back to Sacramento.
Students attend UC Davis ahead of their "Tomorrowland" packet they do in Mr. Bender's class. They take a tour of the campus and get to see what college life is like before learning about the admissions process, financial aid process, and more with our IS counselor, Ms. Parker.
12th graders participate in our school campus' Dia de los Muertos festival by making ofrendas for their loved ones who have passed away. They visit the California Museum's Dia de los Muertos exhibit to gain a better understanding of the holiday and to see examples of ofrendas.
