In groups, students choose a social justice topic of their choice and create a short Public Service Announcement using persuasive techniques.
For this touchpoint, students will interview someone who immigrated to the United States. After the interview, students will create a Google Slides presentation to share with their classmates in an 8 to 12 minute presentation. Students may also bring food from that culture to share with the class so it turns into a big party!
Students immerse themselves in 1950s culture! All juniors at Mira Loma participate in Pleasantville. You select a topic from the 1950s and 1960s in the United States and take on roles of people who were influential in your topic during that time.
