St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick’s Day is a holiday that comes from Ireland. It's celebrated every March 17. It is packed with parades, good luck charms, and all things green. The event started as a religious holiday named after Saint Patrick, but over time it’s become a celebration of Irish culture.

Why Wear Green?

The tradition is tied to folklore that says wearing green makes you invisible to the mythical “leprechaun,” which is very mischievous and likes to pinch anyone they can see. Stories say they hide pots of gold at the end of rainbows.

The Shamrock

The three leaves of a "shamrock," also known as a "three-leafed clover," are said to stand for faith, hope and love. The four-leafed clover, or “lucky clover,” is uncommon and widely considered to be a symbol of good luck if found.
