Sanford Pride Elementary

Welcome! I'm Jillian Gaare, I teach at both Sanford Pride Elementary (K-4th Grade) and Carl J. Lamb School (2nd-4th Grade)!

Hello parents, guardians, families, and artists!

Welcome to Sanford's virtual art show! We are so happy you're here to see the wonderful works created by student artists here at Sanford!

What you're about to see is a culmination of artworks along with skill builders that were worked on in class or during studio time that students chose to share for the show! You will notice a multitude of different mediums and techniques that we learned this year. They have been so fun to teach and learn from, and they should be extremely proud of what they have created so far this year, I know I am!

Scroll down to the bottom of the page to view the bulletin board currently on display for our cultural celebration! Last but not least, please explore all grade levels and homeroom classes, as they each have something completely unique to share!

Enjoy the art show!

Scenes from our Cultural Celebration!

The purpose of this celebration was to have an appreciation and awareness of the different cultures in our school, community and nation. The students and staff have been working on integrated projects since the end of February. All projects are linked to curriculum topics.

Students grades 1st-4th grade learned about the First Nations Mi'kmaq peoples of Canada, each grade level focused on an aspect of the indigenous group, and created artworks that reflect their knowledge, and appreciation of these peoples!

Kindergarten and first grade students focused on the Kente Cloth weavings of Africa. Each cloth worn uses colors, shapes and patterns to represent who the person wearing it is! We created our own "cloths" and once completed, they were combined to show who we are at Pride!
