Are you ready for exam day?
AP's website and call center may share information that is inaccurate for a district the size of SDUSD. Below are SDUSD's AP policies:
Any SDUSD student may take any AP exam.
It is not required they be enrolled in the AP course to take the exam.
To order an exam requires 2 steps:
1- Students must register themselves in AP Classroom.
2 - Students must pay the exam fee or request reduced rates.
Students who do not attend SDUSD schools may request exams but it is unlikely there will be available exam seats - finding enough proctors to meet the exam room ratios is already challenging with SDUSD testers.
SDUSD families who meet the eligiblity requirements set by AP:
their family’s annual income falls within the Income Eligibility Guidelines set by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service,
in households participating in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR), or in some states, Medicaid benefits,
unhoused, migrant, runaway, or in foster care
enrolled in a federally funded Head Start Program
2 steps:
1 - families will complete the LCFF form in PowerSchool Parent Portal which will determine your qualification for discount
2 - fill out a google form so that staff have permission to confirm your qualification for discount
Results will be sent by email within a week.
Exam fees are determine by the date the student registers in AP Classroom.
