My role as your NHE School Counselor

is to provide support to all our students, families, community and staff.  The areas that I focus on are the following: personal/social, academic and career development.  I work closely with teachers, parents/guardians, support staff and community agencies to identify issues/concerns that may be interfering with our student’s learning process and collaborate a plan to address his/hers issues/concerns. My goal and I know your goal also, is for all our students to be successful and reach their highest potential.  I will be working on:

As an elementary counselor, it is my passion and objective to assist students in reaching their fullest potential and become effective learners. My goal is to complement the learning environment in your classrooms/online learning by using a child-centered, preventative, and developmental approach. My counseling services will be implemented with students by way of individual/small group counseling sessions, guidance lessons, read-alouds in the classroom, push-in support and online learning platforms. 

I love to continue on in strengthening and building  at Normal Heights Elementary a Comprehensive Counseling Program, focusing on assisting all the student’s needs and creating a PROACTIVE school environment.

NHE School Counseling Program Overview

As a Data-Driven Comprehensive School Counseling Program, I function under a Multi-Tier Multi-Domain Systems of Support Model.  Through this model, I provide our Hawks with support in all 3 domains: Academic, College/Career and Social-Emotional, based on their specific need and data.

Confidentiality Statement 

As a School Counselor, I maintain strict confidentiality in all of our interactions. All meetings held online or over the phone with me  will remain confidential unless the student gives permission to share information with related parties. 

However, circumstances do arise where I must disclose information to appropriate professionals. Reasons for breaking confidentiality are but not limited to: a student is in danger of harming themselves, another individual, or if a student is in danger of being harmed by others.
