Hello Hawks,

My name is Mrs. Alabanza-de la Cruz and my pronouns are she, her and hers.  Thank you so much for coming to our Counseling Corner.

As your School Counselor, I believe that all children have the potential and skills to achieve great things and become great contributors to our community.  I am committed to providing to all our students the skills, knowledge and exposure of what it is to be a human being of character.  My goal is for all our students to make “Helpful” Choices and not a “Hurtful” choice.  My counseling philosophy is too:

I have a B.A. degree in Psychology with a Minor in Child Development from San Diego State University and Masters in Education, with Emphasis in Counseling and Guidance along with a Pupil Personnel Credential from Point Loma Nazarene University.

I enjoy learning and laughing with our whole NHE Hawks. I look forward to each day, with all our students at NHE and providing everyone with counseling support services in the areas of: personal/social, academic and career development.  Outside of NHE, I love spending time with my family and friends. I am the eldest of three children, I love being a big sister and daughter.  I enjoy being a wife and mother to my two children; Miles will be 16 years old in December 2024 and Mia  will turn 13 years old in November 2024.

Thank you so much for visiting our NHE Counseling Corner.  Please visit my Newsletter, "Home & School Connection", monthly and stay connected with my daily/weekly Class Dojo, Instagram @BeTheReasonSchoolCounselor posts and twitter @nheAlabanzaMEd
