Through the support of Feeding San Diego, along with generous donations from Alicia Kitagawa and Zaira Martinez, Encanto Elementary hosts bi-monthly farmer’s market-style food distributions for our families and surrounding community members. These events provide essential access to fresh food while strengthening community support for families in need.
Our partnership with DEEP has enabled us to provide essential literacy training for educators.
Leah's Pantry organized our Garden Cleanup. They constructed a new garden plan and are facilitaing the restoration of our garden along with SD Co-Harvest. Through Leah's Pantry Mulch was donated and delivered by Arboleros.org.
A local costume company donated costumes and accessories for our students.
San Diego Food Bank provides food weekly for our families with food instability through their Food 4 Kids Backpack Program.
United Way of SD County and Corvettes and Coffee hosted a Toy Giveaway event in December for Encanto Students. Chick-fil-A provided food and one of their mascots came to visit with students. Face painting was also provided and there were corvettes to view.
Thanks to Good Neighbor Gardens, our 5th grade students enjoyed an enriching field trip to Living 4 2Day Ranch, where they explored hands-on learning through engaging rotations focused on farming and aquafarming. Students discovered different aspects of sustainable agriculture and even participated in a fun culinary station where they made their own fresh salad and dressing. This meaningful experience connected classroom learning to real-world practices while inspiring healthy habits and environmental awareness.
