Through the support of Feeding San Diego, along with generous donations from Alicia Kitagawa and Zaira Martinez, Encanto Elementary hosts bi-monthly farmer’s market-style food distributions for our families and surrounding community members. These events provide essential access to fresh food while strengthening community support for families in need.

For a 2nd year in a row Riggins Urban Barber College offered students free haircuts at our Meet the Teacher Ice Cream Social. Thank you for helping our students start the year looking and feeling their best.

San Diego Food Bank provides food weekly for our families with food instability through their Food 4 Kids Backpack Program.

Through SDUSD clinicians students TK-2nd have the opportunity to  participate in small group Social Emotional Learn lessons. Their parents also have the opportunity to attend parenting classes to help support their students at home

A local costume company donated costumes and accessories for our students.

Two years in a row, The Fleet Science Center brought an after-school SciTech class for 4th and 5th grade girls in Encanto. The students met weekly, and took part in a city wide competition at the end of the session. For a second year in a row The Fleet Science Center hosted a family science night at Encanto.

United Way of San Diego County

United Way of SD County and Corvettes and Coffee hosted a Toy Giveaway event in December for Encanto Students. Chick-fil-A  provided food and one of their mascots came to visit with students. Face painting was also provided and there were corvettes to view.

Thanks to Good Neighbor Gardens, our 5th grade students enjoyed an enriching field trip to Living 4 2Day Ranch, where they explored hands-on learning through engaging rotations focused on farming and aquafarming. Students discovered different aspects of sustainable agriculture and even participated in a fun culinary station where they made their own fresh salad and dressing. This meaningful experience connected classroom learning to real-world practices while inspiring healthy habits and environmental awareness.

SDVOAD has donated toys, good and hygiene products for our families.

Shake Shack of Plaza Bonita donated gift cards to our Community Schools Team to use as incentives. They also donated 2 Custard Sundae Parties as prizes for the first 2 classes to return 100% of their NAA parent surveys.

Our partnership with DEEP has enabled us to provide essential literacy training for educators.

Community Recovery Team donated hygiene items to our Family Care Closet

Ringers Roller Rink donated gift cards to our Community Schools Team to use as incentives.
