Erin Richison currently serves as the area superintendent of high schools at san diego unified school district. prior to joining san diego unified, she was a classroom teacher who taught reading, english, and advanced placement english before beginning her tenure as a secondary school administrator - three years as a high school assistant principal, three years as a district english learner director, four years as a high school principal, and five years coaching principals across 42 districts at the san diego county office of education. 

erin values her work to improve the high school experience, academically and socially, for all students, especially the most vulnerable and underserved student populations. 

she has a degree from the university of san diego, san diego state university, and the university of california, los angeles, where she earned her doctorate degree in educational leadership in 2011.
