Dr. Steven Dorsey serves as Area E Superintendent for San Diego Unified School District.  Dr. Steven Dorsey is committed to an equitable education for all students and developing their innovative problem solving skills in a supportive assets based environment that cultivates the belonging of each and every student

Professional Background:

Dr. Steven Dorsey brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role as Area Superintendent. Prior to joining SDUSD he has  served in various educational leadership positions, including Executive Leadership Coach at the County level,  Principal at all three levels, and central office director role in pupil services.  His extensive knowledge in teaching and learning leadership has helped shape his educational philosophy and guide his vision.

Accomplishments:

During his tenure, Dr. Steven Dorsey has achieved remarkable milestones, including:

• Implemented International Baccalaureate and full inclusion/ co-teaching program to enhance student learning and engagement.

• Strengthened partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and community leaders to expand opportunities for students.

• California distinguished school awards at elementary and middle school level

• Led the successful implementation of technology integration and 1:1 programs  to modernized educational resources.

• Promoted a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
