PS. This week I have had two designs for my phone holder. The first one will be documented in black, and the second one will be in blue as it's easier to understand and track.Thanks.
For the second design, I created the same design with a slightly different shape in its face.
This week manly assignment was to learn and use Fusion 360 as a CAD program, in order to create a phone holder in minimum 2 parts, in order to convert it to a real product by using the laser cuter machine in the lab.
Google was my first resource and source of inspiration, as I use it to watch videos, photos and ideas in order to deside mine.
At the end, I decide to create my own pattern in order to learn more about the program and how it work's;I use my phone measurements as an assist in order to create the holder in the right shape and size.
I used Hossam Ismail week2 assighmet as a reference for my work cause it simillar to mine.
For designing the phone holder, I use Fusion 360, and for creating the RLD files, I use laser work software. The Laser cutting machine that I use for the cutting processes was Morn MT3050D, and the Materials was PlyWood 3m.

This is my second designed and fabricated phone holder that I had to create in order to fulfill week2 evaluation requirements.
AS a result of designing the mobile holder without considering the screws and nuts assemble into consideration, I had to redesign another one. And in order to fabricate it I asked for help on slack. My rescuer Doaa Hassan volunteered to help me in this process and It will be fabricated by tomorrow inshallah.
I had documented almost all the designing process with its ups and downs in 2 videos that I downloaded into my youtube as following.

The front part dimensions is 220*150 and the back part is 60*110.
For extrude I prees finish sketch and then extrude and 3 mm and okay.For assemble I press joint and joint the two parts together and make sure that its in the right fit.
For my first try of creating the phone holder.I started by taking my phone dimensions and created my own sketch, the phone Width was 103 mm and the length was 220 mm.
After creating my paper sketch I use Fusion 360 to create the dimensions needed; the circles, triangles and lines use wasn’t that easy, so I watch YouTube tutorials in order to know how to use them.

the challange was how to use the mirror feature with this amount of plolygons, but I try different methods till I made it. I started by creat a rectangle and devide it to four pieces, by making the edges rounded; I made the shape more frindelly use. the final procese was to create the smal rectangle in 3mm Width and 50 in its length.
In order to creat my front pice, I use mostly the triangle, circle,lines and polygons.
The first and the second try of creating my pattern failed, the firsy one I wasn't aware of the fact that it must be fully definded too.
As the instructor told me when I ask how to make all the chape fully definded, I creat the fixed circle and containe to do the pattern from it.
due the fact of deleting my file accident isted of saving , I was forced to create them once again!!
After the design process, I extruded the design components into 3 mm parts as in 2.5D
in order to use plywood for fabrication process, and assembled the parts together to form the phone holder.
After the assemble processes, I save the file into DFX format by clicking on the sketch a left click then choosing to save file as DXF, and give it a name.
At the end of desighing process, I used laser work software to adjust the holder for the printing process

The process of creating my second piece was easier as I use new tools such as, skitch dimensions, trim and offsetr, which make the designing processes easir.
The second pice dimensions Width was 164 mm and the length was 146 mm. I started by creating 2 triangles, one with 164 width and the other one was 82, after it I make one circle with 50 radius and trim it from to half.
In the process of making the t-slote, I use the PDF file that was in the week2 tutorials in order to creat mine.
Designing my sketch from inside with polygon patterns was my final step,then I pressed Finish the sketch.
by making the speed and engraving power then saved the file with .RLD extension to be loaded into the Laser cutter machine.
To prepare the mobile holder to be cute by the laser machine, I used LaserWorks software to define which lines will be cut and which will be engraved.

For cutting: speed: 350 mm/sec
Power: 65%.
For engraving: speed: 300 mm/sec
Power: 25%.
And finally, I saved the file with the RLD extension to be loaded to the Laser cutter.

The speed and power of cutting, the second phone is: speed 350 mm/sec and Power is 65%.
The same process of using Laser Works software to define the cutting power and speed, and to export the RLD file to be printed goes on and the adjusting the laser cutting Morn MT3050D machine and then start.

For laser cutting machine:

Open laser work program and import the DXF file and set the speed and power.
Download the file on the machine and rename the file.
Checking the power on the laser cutting machine (power it on).
Check the origin of the machine by controlling the arrows (up-down-right-left) and click on origin button to set the origin.
Open files on the machine and search for the named file to print and track the cut area.
Control the vertical distance of the bed to the laser handle to just fit a coin (from the side of the machine).
Select the file again from the machine and start the cut process.
Got your work done by connect pieces together and completed the connection by the scews and nuts.

In week1, I was having problems using laser work Software to prepare the DXF file, for it’s not work on my laptop; so, I wrote about it on slack, and one the college Mr. Mohammed Abdul-Fattah, helped me to take a screenshot in his computer.
Also,I was facing problems with fusion360 using, when I was in week mid lecture my colleges and I worked together to creat the chair basic sketch, and that helps me to know more about the program and how to use it.
In addition to that, I ask a question about the M3 screws and nuts dimensions and positions on slack, and the friends there guides me to search something online in order to do it the right dimensions.
through the weekly session, I helped one of my colleges with downloading fusion 60; as I face the same problem and I hope it works.
First of all, I made the design with the wrong measurement not once but twice, at first I made it with inches, and again with cm not mm .After releasing my amazing clever mistakes, I started again by watching videos of how the program works, then on the midweek tutorials I practice them again. for me it's still hard to deal with the move/ cut and past thing, but I'm doing my best practicing it.
For creating the t-slot I watch the week 1 video of it and apply it step by step, as I follow the lines I found that I'm not that good with measuring so I use the PDF file of the slot to create it my one and found out that I'm doing it with the wrong angle, by tha I found it easier to do one and copy past it.
If I'm giving an advice to someone, it will be to practice as much as possible and to watch all the videos of the week before start working.
Finally, I'd like to say that using fusion 60 wasn't that easy for me, the user interface and how it works took me almost 15 hours of practice;whatching online videos , learning by practice with the instructor videos and cearching for the smallest details of how everything functions.
This training guide helps me in my desighing process and it's for those who loves reading.
In fab lab fabrication day, I found out that my T-slot isn't in the right place as it suppose to be , and again with Ms. Amany Ayman help I redesign the slot and change its place and put a lovely pattern in it.
She was very helpful as she helped me to use laser work program to put the pattern on my holder front space and to implement the holder, and thanks to her the process was more easier and interesting.
This week is somehow a challenging week even after its finished. I started to believe that it will be my end .I'm still in the mood of improvement and learn, but if this will be the end, I will always be grateful for this lovely learning experience and the people that I meet on.
PS.The evaluation ends and I passed it, even though I'm not that happy with the process. I still gonna try my best.
In order to create my clock, I will need fusion 360 for: designing the clock outside chape; creating my engraving pattern of the ancient Egyptian old accent seasons, and the lovely Egyptian woman with louts;and doing the assemble process to make sure that my project is in the right dimensions.
Surely, using laser work software and laser cuting machine once again will help me to do my final project with more efficiency.
Use fusion 360 to create things,that can transferred from ideas in to a real materialistic objects.
