We make these arrangements for ourselves or for those who order them, but we practice a lot to be able to do good arrangements for our people who support us. Making arrangements is a lot of fun; it's a class that I find very enjoyable. It's a very nice experience being in this floral design class.

Thanksgiving Basket Arrangement

The arrangement shown was made for thanksgiving, with a twist of my own taste. This arrangement uses a variety of flowers, with different colors as styles, such as roses, ranunculus, mums, etc. The ties of pastel colors with autumn colors bring in a mixture of my person taste, while being in season, but having a spring twist with the basket.

For this show case I chose to present the bridal bouquet I designed for one of our ag teachers' wedding. Our client wanted a soft arrangement with plenty of greens to give it an elegant look. The materials used include, silver dollar eucalyptus, ruscus, lisianthus, white roses, hypericum berries, horsehair feathers, and white bleached ruscus.

This free-styled hand bouquet features soft pink carnations, delicate daisies, snapdragons and eucalyptus arranged to create balance, texture and height from all around. This bouquet has a sense of pastel palette which presents a warmth and joy while the greenery adds depth and contrast. The piece highlights harmony in color, shape and form.

For this showcase, I decided to present my Thanksgiving arrangement. This arrangement consists of a variety of flowers including mums, spray roses, lisianthus, roses, and spray mums. The filler flower I used was statice. I used a variety of greenery, including mainly eucalyptus. I included dry material and spray-painted greenery to fit the theme.

This Floral arrangement has a soft, organic, and romantic style with warm neutral color palette. It features ivory, peach, and dusty brown roses as local flowers, complemented by pale green and white filler blooms for texture. Eucalypt5us and flowing greenery create movement and a natural, garden- inspired shape.

This floral arrangement is about bright colors blending together beautifully. It features a gradient of colors ranging from soft creams to vibrant pinks. The roses are a classic flower which complements the arrangement very nicely. I used mostly roses but the flowers have varied of textures and different hues makes it unique.

Plant Anatomy & Physiology UNIT 1

I’ve learned skills in floral design, in this Horticulture. For instance, I learned the importance of balance in a center piece and contrasting colors. In the image above, you can see the visual balance in the center piece. The red is the bold color in this center piece, the rest are softer shades of pink. This creates a depth in the arrangement.

My Dream Event Project was based on a strawberry-themed birthday centerpiece. By using monochromatic and complimentary colors such as red, pink, white, and green, I was able to create a harmonious color design. I cut stems at an angle for better water absorption to prevent wilting and removed leaves below the water line to protect my arrangement.

In our Vet Science class we built a mouse maze. We used cardboard boxes and hot glue to assemble the maze. We trained it to find its way out. Every time we’d test run we would time to see how long it would take for the mouse to get out. After many practices we were able to successfully teach the mouse how to get through the maze.
