Olivia Gott

The Freshman AVID Student of the Quarter is Olivia Gott. Olivia is a wonderful student-- she is focused and prepared every day, she supports her peers in tutorial, goes out of her way to encourage her classmates to stay organized and focused and is the first to volunteer whenever help is needed. She exemplifies what it is to be an AVID student! Congratulations, Olivia!

Cipi Lara

The AVID 9 Student of the Quarter is Cipriano Lara. Cipi is a conscientious student with high expectations of himself. He shows great pride in his work, always making sure that his classwork illustrates his best effort. Polite and respectful, Cipi's courteous behavior toward others is appreciated by both his teachers and fellow classmates; making him someone that others can trust and rely on for guidance and support. Because of his positive influence, respectful actions, and strong work ethic, Cipi is not only an exemplary member of AVID but also a remarkable member of the Salinas High School community. Congratulations, Cipi!

Jacqueline Aguliar

Jackie is an exemplary AVID student. She is quietly determined-- Jackie is focused and makes her grades a priority while also helping those who need it. She is kind, supportive and is a role model for those who know her. Jackie maintained a 4.0 both quarters in first semester and is currently earning a GPA that has her placed in the top three standings within AVID 9. Her work ethic is admirable and we are lucky to have such a wonderful student in our class. Congratulations, Jackie! I am so proud of you!

Jesus lopez

The final quarter's Student of the Quarter for AVID 9 goes to Mr. Jesus Lopez. Jesus is the personification of AVID-- early on, Jesus made the decision to focus, become motivated, and make his academic success a priority and I could not be more proud of him. He is someone who seeks out additional support when he needs it and helps keep others accountable while maintaining his own grades. Congratulations, Jesus!

Eliana Lopez-Diaz

Eliana Lopez-Diaz is the AVID student of the first quarter for sophomore AVID. Frankly, Eliana has done it all this quarter when it comes to being a student. She has earned a 3.8 GPA and the respect of all of her teachers at Salinas High School. Eliana goes out of her way to help other students in AVID and this is especially illustrated during AVID tutorial. Eliana is vocal and works very hard to master her classes while helping others to do the same. Eliana is a very deserving candidate for student of the quarter. I am so proud of you Eliana! Congratulations!

Xiomara Diaz

Xiomara Diaz is the Sophomore AVID Student of the Quarter. First and foremost, her organization skills are outstanding. Her attitude in class is consistent and positive. The most impressive aspect of Xiomara’s performance this quarter is her focus and attention during AVID tutorials. She understands the importance of this process and makes everyone around her better. Congratulations Xiomara!

Chloe Giles

Chloe Giles is the Sophomore AVID student of the quarter. From the beginning of the school year, Chloe has been impressive. All facets of AVID-her writing, organization, collaboration with her peers, her ability to think and reading comprehension have been outstanding. On top of that, Chloe is a two sport athlete and a straight A student. Awesome job Chloe!

Molly Walsh

I would like to congratulate Molly Walsh, the sophomore AVID student of the quarter. She is currently earning straight A’s in all of her classes. The work ethic she exhibits in AVID is second to none. On top of that, Molly is an excellent artist. Lastly, I am very proud of Molly and her accomplishments.
