The Freshman AVID Student of the Quarter is Olivia Gott. Olivia is a wonderful student-- she is focused and prepared every day, she supports her peers in tutorial, goes out of her way to encourage her classmates to stay organized and focused and is the first to volunteer whenever help is needed. She exemplifies what it is to be an AVID student! Congratulations, Olivia!

The AVID 9 Student of the Quarter is Cipriano Lara. Cipi is a conscientious student with high expectations of himself. He shows great pride in his work, always making sure that his classwork illustrates his best effort. Polite and respectful, Cipi's courteous behavior toward others is appreciated by both his teachers and fellow classmates; making him someone that others can trust and rely on for guidance and support. Because of his positive influence, respectful actions, and strong work ethic, Cipi is not only an exemplary member of AVID but also a remarkable member of the Salinas High School community. Congratulations, Cipi!

Jackie is an exemplary AVID student. She is quietly determined-- Jackie is focused and makes her grades a priority while also helping those who need it. She is kind, supportive and is a role model for those who know her. Jackie maintained a 4.0 both quarters in first semester and is currently earning a GPA that has her placed in the top three standings within AVID 9. Her work ethic is admirable and we are lucky to have such a wonderful student in our class. Congratulations, Jackie! I am so proud of you!

Xiomara Diaz is the Sophomore AVID Student of the Quarter.  First and foremost, her organization skills are outstanding.  Her attitude in class is consistent and positive.  The most impressive aspect of Xiomara’s performance this quarter is her focus and attention during AVID tutorials.  She understands the importance of this process and makes everyone around her better.  Congratulations Xiomara! 

Chloe Giles is the Sophomore AVID student of the quarter.  From the beginning of the school year, Chloe has been impressive.  All facets of AVID-her writing, organization, collaboration with her peers, her ability to think and reading comprehension have been outstanding.  On top of that, Chloe is a two sport athlete and a straight A student.  Awesome job Chloe! 

I would like to congratulate Jimena Salazar for being chosen as the AVID Student of the Quarter.  She is an excellent student and a fine athlete.  Jimena plays both flag football and girls' basketball.  Jimena always goes out of her way to help others.  She is exactly what we expect our AVID students to aspire to.  Congratulations Jimena!

Andrea is the Junior AVID student of the quarter. First and foremost, Andrea

is an outstanding student. She currently has 7 classes and is maintaining a

solid A in every class. Secondly, I can depend on Andrea to be responsible

and focused every day. She is always prepared during tutorials and can be

depended upon by her fellow AVID peers. I could not be more proud of

Andrea and her accomplishments. 

I am honored to announce Kimberly Vasquez-Santiago as the senior AVID student of the quarter.  She is an amazing member of the class of 2026.  Kimberly is currently earning straight A’s.  Her resume of accomplishments includes a solid GPA, participation in Cross-Country and Track and Field, and countless hours of community service.  Her work in AVID-related activities, such as tutorials, is impeccable.  Congratulations Kimberly!

It is an honor to announce Marcos Avilez as the Senior AVID Student of the Quarter. Marcos is the epitome of consistency.  He is always prepared for class and can be counted on to contribute during tutorials.  Marcos has maintained excellent grades throughout his time at Salinas High School.  His hard work has paid off as he has already been accepted to San Francisco State University.  Congratulations Marcos!
