Our sophomore AVID student of the quarter is Emily Garcia. Milly is a compassionate, thoughtful, and generous person. She treats everyone with respect and is always willing to help those around her. Her kindness and dedication are apparent the moment you meet her. We are so lucky to have her as part of our AVID family. 

We are proud to announce Maria Velazquez as our Sophomore AVID Student of the Quarter. Maria exemplifies the core values of the AVID program through her kindness, empathy, and intellectual curiosity. Beyond her academic success, she is a collaborative teammate who consistently encourages her peers. Maria’s ability to maintain excellence in both athletics and academics while fostering positive relationships is truly remarkable. We are so happy to have her as part of our AVID family.  

The sophomore AVID student of the quarter is Raymond Corona. During his time in AVID, Raymond has consistently worked hard to receive great grades regardless of how difficult the class is. He consistently participates in tutorial and assists those around him without having to be asked. In addition to his academics, Raymond is a great friend who supports his fellow AVID family members. We are lucky to have him!  

Our sophomore AVID student of the quarter is Valeria Vargas. Valeria joined us this year and immediately became involved, becoming a site team member, helping at cabinet meetings, and becoming a writer for our quarterly newsletter. She is also a vital part of tutorial, always helping her group and asking great questions. Her passion and collaborative spirit have made her a perfect addition. 

The freshman AVID student of the quarter is Adamarys Reyes-Canseco. Her unwavering individual determination sets her apart—she consistently earns straight A's and approaches every challenge with focus and resilience. Whether she's leading by example during tutorial sessions or staying committed to her academic growth, Adamarys embodies what it means to be an AVID scholar. Her bright spirit, work ethic, and dedication to success inspire those around her. We are happy to have her as part of our AVID family. 

We are proud to recognize Israel Rodriguez as the freshmen AVID Student of the Quarter! Israel exemplifies the core values of AVID through his responsibility, leadership, and self-advocacy. He consistently takes ownership of his education, staying organized, meeting deadlines, and striving for academic excellence. His dedication to growth and success inspires those around him, setting a strong example for his peers. He actively contributes to classroom discussions, collaborates effectively with his peers during tutorial, and offers support to those in need. His determination and perseverance demonstrate a true commitment to personal and academic growth. Congrats, Israel! 

The freshman student of the quarter for quarter 2 is Lilyanna Ayala. Lily embodies the true spirit of AVID through her unwavering dedication, positive attitude, and commitment to helping others succeed. Where Lily really shines is in tutorials where she is helpful, engaged, and focused. Her willingness to go above and beyond to help her classmates succeed exemplifies what it means to be an AVID scholar.

Lylah Perez is the freshman student of the quarter. Lylah is a dedicated student who always communicates with her teachers, completes her work to the best of her ability, and is unafraid to ask questions. She is also a gifted Volleyball athlete who has successfully managed the demanding schedule of being a student-athlete. When Lylah has an early release or has to miss my class, she always communicates ahead of time and gets her missing work turned in. She truly is determined to be successful and a wonderful AVID family member.
