Hi! My name is Laura Hansen, and I recently moved to Marin County. I grew up in the Peninsula of the Bay Area, where I began my teaching career, and later spent several years teaching outside of the Sacramento area. I moved to Marin to be closer to family, and I am delighted to join Saint Hilary School as the new fourth grade teacher!
I bring 12 years of teaching experience, primarily in fourth grade, though I have also taught kindergarten and sixth grade. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Art History (2012) and my Multiple Subject Credential (2014) from San Francisco State University.
I am dedicated to inspiring children, cultivating trust, and challenging students to reach their full potential. To support every learner, I regularly hold one-on-one meetings with students to set goals, develop strategies, track progress, and build accountability. I also enjoy incorporating technology into lessons to enhance learning and engagement.
I love connecting with students, fostering confidence, and helping them grow both academically and personally. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing their pride in their own progress.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family—including my two Shih Tzus, Benni and Howie. I also love reading, traveling to lakes and beaches, and I have a passion for cooking.
I am so excited to get this year started and to introduce you to Ms. Blitzer. She is equally enthusiastic about being part of the adventure that lies ahead!

Ms. Blitzer: eblitzer@sainthilaryschool.org
Please include both of our emails on any communication so that we can each view your message and assist you or your child as needed. We work closely together and regularly share information, so including both of us helps keep communication clear and efficient.
I believe that a successful year begins with open communication between parents and teachers. If you would like to schedule a conference, they can be arranged in advance—typically after school, or occasionally before school. For emails, please allow at least 24 hours for a response. Fourth grade is a busy year, and it can be difficult to check emails throughout the day.
