Quick Start Guide (.docx pending)
Used to control the 5.1 Surround monitoring outputs in the control room.
Looking at the front there is only one button: 'Mute', this is for safety reasons.
All monitor control options and assignments are digitally controlled via Midi (configured through the X-Mon desktop app or the Avid S6 Module - Monitoring Page).
The 'Monitoring' page on the Avid S6 Master Section; sends commands over Ethernet (using EuCon commands) to the host computer (MacPro), and then onto the X-Mon module (using Midi commands).
Note: To disable the 'Mute' button - simply right click the 'X-Mon desktop app' and navigate to 'Midi' and click 'USB-Midi'.
MAIN
Select this for 5.1 Multi Channel Surround monitoring (up to 7.1 capable, but not setup).
Desktop Audio
To listen to desktop audio, simply make sure you are using 'AVID HDX' in the Sound Preferences of Mac OSX, and use the Avid S6's Monitor control to adjust your desired listening levels - making sure you have 'MAIN' selected on the Avid S6's 'Monitoring Page'.
The outputs are internally configured through 'Audio Midi => Speaker Configuration' to work with the Genelec Surround Speakers automatically.
